That's the biggest one I've ever seen! I wonder if other car companies use them too, but maybe take them out at the port or something.

I always save them and put them in dresser drawers, don't know if it does much, but it can't hurt.

I like the ones that come in Mazda intake manifolds that look like beef jerky, and when opened and squeezed out looks like a giant dook.

I need to go find a picture now....

Well...I'll still pass on that...

If you emptied a packet of the stuff into your mouth, the moisture would be whisked away from the sides and roof of your mouth, your gums and tongue — giving an entirely new and all-too-accurate meaning of the phrase "dry mouth." If silica gel did happen to make it past your mouth — which is unlikely because you would probably be making every effort to spit it out — you might suffer a few irritating side effects, such as:

Dry eyes

An irritated, dry feeling in your throat

Aggravated, dry mucous membranes and nasal cavity

An upset stomach or stomach discomfort

I want to know who was the first guy to eat one. What was he thinking? Maybe it was a surprise treat that he just happened to be the first person to ever find one?

So follow the credo. OR ELSE. "

lol they have forgotten this creed on various things associated to the Evora. I'm glad the new one will go back to its root sort of...plus more powerrr!

Kinja'd!!! PS9 > EL_ULY
01/23/2015 at 16:43

Kinja'd!!!0

Well they can't all be go carts. The Evora is still lighter than almost every other supercar you can buy, while being as close as we'll ever get to a new MR2.

True true, but for the price, Alfa will take our sales hard just like the Corvette. New ones though are going to somewhere in the 2800 lbs range and near 400hp. I can't wait!!!

Kinja'd!!! PS9 > EL_ULY
01/23/2015 at 16:56

Kinja'd!!!0

Yeah, the Evora is an 8 year old car now, and has a serious disadvantage given the competition. It's my favorite Lotus...but after having seat time in a C7...no, there's no way I would pick the Evora over it. It's too bad Lotus didn't have the cash to keep revising them over the years. A flat-plane high-revving version of the V6 punched out to 4L would have been amazing.

I really like the Evora despite all the mess I talk about it. I never once dog on its performance. The thing drives soooooo good. Anything close to its driveability deserves credit because this car to me is pretty much perfect. My butt was the official calibration reader for these here at my shop for a while. A 2014 Evora S..... all day sir!

I need seat time in a C7. I bet that was stellar

My 5 year old son once disregarded that warning completely though. I was driving my wife's Pilot, and Rami had decided he wanted to sit in the third row. So he's sitting back there, and all of a sudden he says, "hey! Salt packet!" and I hear him crunch on something. So I'm frantically yelling at him to spit it the hell out, and thankfully there was a gas station at the corner. I pull in, run to the back, yank what turned out to NOT be salt but a silica packet out of his hands and take whatever I can out of his mouth and am all ready to call poison control, but instead I first look up what to do if eaten. Thankfully it's pretty harmess unless consumed in quantities similar to that 500gr back you got there, so I got him a bottle of water, made him drink the entire thing, and went home to monitor him. He scared the SHIT out of me.

It's because of british weather maybe? It's so damp and rainy over there all the damn time.

it's possible. It does have a piece of leather on the top side of the rear bonnet right over the rear boot section.... for no reason :]
